Job summary

We are significantly expanding our research team and are now looking for a new research administrator to get more involved with our work.

We are looking for an enthusiastic administrator to join our friendly, well organised, and supportive research team at our GP surgery for up to full time hours. This post is available from December, but we are happy to wait for the right candidate.

Main duties of the job

Your main role will be to provide comprehensive administrative and coordination support to the research team, ensuring smooth running of studies, effective communication with patients and staff, and accurate management of research documentation and logistics.

About us

Located in the centre of an expanding town 10 miles north of Bristol, convenient for all amenities, we are a based in a large purpose-built premises and have a small branch surgery in Coalpit Heath.

West Walk Surgery has been heavily involved in research for over 10 years, our busy clinical trials unit runs studies covering the whole scope of General Practice. Please see our website www.southglosresearch.org.uk for more details about our site and the studies we run.Our current research team includes a Principal Investigator, three research nurses, lab technician and an adhoc research administrator, who is changing roles at the surgery. We are also part of a much wider practice team at the surgery.

Job responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of the Research Administrator. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

o Working closely with the whole research team

o Keeping minutes of our research team meetings

o Keeping our website up to date with research studies being run, and setting up and maintaining new social media channels to promote our work

o Acting as a key contact for our new Patient Participation Panel, arranging meetings, and taking minutes at these, ensuring any actions are undertaken by the relevant person

o Arranging rooms for external research team visitors

o Keeping track of safety documents sent to our site and ensuring the right people are aware of them

o Filing results and paperwork in participant files

o Maintaining Investigator Site Files and ensuring all the relevant paperwork is in the correct place

o Receiving and processing stock when it comes to the surgery, and arranging courier collection of samples to and from patients homes and trial laboratories

o Supporting the doctors, nurses and patient participants in all aspects of the research study process
