Abbey Road Surgery is offering a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant wanting to join a well-organised and friendly practice. Candidates should be committed and enthusiastic and should ideally have experience working within a GP Surgery.
Main duties of the job
This post will provide general healthcare for patients within the competencies of the post holder. Main duties include:
- Providing screening and monitoring services for the patient population
- New patient health checks
- ECG recording
- INR
- Phlebotomy
- Spirometry
- Chaperoning duties
- Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses
- Dressings
- Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment
Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Lead Nurse/Practice Manager, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels.

We have 6,500 patients and operate from a single site. We are based in the newly purpose built Alfred Barrow Health Centre in Barrow in Furness
We operate using the Emis clinical system.
