25 hours per week (7.30am-12.30pm, Monday-Friday)

Start date to be negotiated

£13.50 per hour

We currently have an exciting opportunity within the practice for a Nurse Administrator. This role will support the smooth running of our practice by ensuring all medical consumables are kept at an optimum level, accurate stock check is recorded and deliveries safely maintained at both of our Practice sites.

Main duties of the job

This role will include to source, order and regulate stock levels of all drugs, vaccines and all medical consumables across the two sites. Maintain stock cupboards and put away all medical consumables across the two sites. Support IPC Lead, Vaccination Lead, Estates Lead and Rota manager when needed.

Job description

Job responsibilities

To work as part of the wider nursing team, alongside managers, to ensure that all medical consumables are kept at an optimum level.

To work as part of the wider nursing team, in conjunction with the IPC Lead to ensure that the surgery is CQC compliant with infection control regulations.

To work in conjunction with vaccination lead nurse to ensure that vaccines are available as required.

To source, order and regulate stock levels weekly to meet pre-determined levels of drugs, vaccines (including travel) and child immunisations across two sites THC & Wingfield Road.

To source as requested medical consumables, including PPE, for the Practice across two sites THC and Wingfield Road.

To maintain stock cupboards and regulate stock levels weekly to meet pre-determined stock levels for the Practice across two sites THC and Wingfield Road.

To Co-ordinate with Estate Lead about all medical equipment.

To Co-ordinate with Rota Manager and cancel/re-arrange appointments in case of absence within nursing team.

Main responsibilities:

Weekly sourcing and ordering to maintain pre-determined stock levels of:

ICE on systmone i.e. blood bottles

Child immunisations

Travel vaccines, as and when required

Monthly sourcing and ordering to maintain pre-determined stock levels of:

Controlled and non-controlled drugs, vaccines, and immunisations

Medical consumables

PPE

Weekly organisation of the deliveries and cupboard stock:

Put away all medical consumables/drugs delivered to THC and WR ensure stock/drug cupboards are safely maintained across both sites

Maintenance of a Drug Asset register

Maintain Asset Register for Drugs, vaccines & immunisations to support/record ordering levels

Weekly check on expiry dates for all medicines. To rotate stock accordingly.

Destroy out of date stock in accordance with SOP. Authorisation to be sought from Infection Control Lead.

Infection Control Support:

Six monthly replacements of clinical curtains across both sites

Weekly cleaning for fridges

Monthly Legionella testing

Support IPC Lead when needed

Appointments:

Support Rota Manager with cancelling/re-arranging appointments if needed

Annual Flu campaign:

Audit/rotate flu stock

Awareness of cold chain/immunisation storage requirements

Standard Operating Procedures:

Contribute to SOPs as requested/appropriate

  • UK Driving License

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 in administration

Experience
