We are looking for a Practice Nurse
Do you have or are you looking to achieve specialist qualification relating to Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, Travel Vaccinations, Sexual Health or General Practice Nursing? If so, we would like to hear from you!
The Alney Practice is looking to employ a Practice Nurse to work across 2 sites - Cheltenham Rd and Highnam.
There is one post available (part-time) and we are ideally looking at hiring someone between 17-23 hours p/w.

Main duties of the job
Duties and Responsibilities
To attend
either Cheltenham Rd or The Highnam surgery as requested, to provide general
practice nursing. These clinics could include general treatment room services
including phlebotomy, ear irrigation, immunisations, cervical smears and wound dressings
dependent on your competences and qualifications.

Our Nursing team consists of 6 Practice Nurses, 1 HCA, and 2 GP Assistants who also do a lot of the HCA roles in their clinical time.

Job Purpose: To attend
practice nurse clinics, providing high quality nursing in a variety of
clinical areas.
Duties and Responsibilities
* To attend
either Cheltenham Rd or The Highnam surgery as requested, to provide general
practice nursing. These clinics could include general treatment room services
including phlebotomy, ear irrigation, immunisations and wound dressings
dependent on your competences and qualifications.
* To offer patient
centred, evidenced based nursing.
* To document
all care given in a clear and concise manner using a variety of computer
systems.
* To manage the
nursing care of patients within general practice clinics, employing personal
recall systems suitable to the practices needs. This includes using the
practice computer systems for accurate and efficient input of data.
* To work
within your own competencies and qualifications in line with the NMC Code.
* To develop
and maintain effective communication between the nursing team.
* To work
safely at all times in accordance with the NMC, legislative requirements and
company policies and procedures.
* To attend
regular meetings with the nursing team, if required
