Ivel Medical Centre is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly and supportive practice team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in medicines management and optimisation, helping us to deliver high-quality, safe, and effective care for our patients in Biggleswade and the surrounding community.
The successful candidate will work closely with our GPs, Clinical Pharmacist, Practice Nurses and wider administrative team to streamline repeat prescribing, support medicines reconciliation, improve medicines safety, and promote cost-effective prescribing. This role is ideally suited to a registered Pharmacy Technician who is passionate about patient care and keen to develop their skills in a practice-based environment.
The role is part time 25 hrs per week and salary will be AfC band 5 (pro rata) depending on experience

Support the repeat prescription process, ensuring safe, accurate, and timely issuing of medication.
Undertake medicines reconciliation for new patients and following hospital discharge.
Assist with medication reviews under supervision of the Clinical Pharmacist or GP.
Provide patients with advice on the safe storage, use and disposal of medicines, within professional competence.
Contribute to delivery of QOF, IIF and Enhanced Services related to prescribing and medicines safety.
Implement and monitor prescribing safety alerts, audits and medicines optimisation initiatives.
Support, advise and train administrative staff on repeat prescribing protocols.
