Job summary
Brunel Medical Centre is an innovative and thriving teaching practice, with a strong ethos of learning and an embedded supportive culture within the campus of Brunel University in West London.
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic salaried GP to expand our excellent team of doctors, a practice nurse, and prescribing practice pharmacists along with other AHPs deployed via PCN ARR scheme.
The candidate will need to demonstrate the key skills required to manage a patient list whilst working within a multidisciplinary team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. A special interest is preferable.
We have a growing list size of 12,000 patients, the practice serves a diverse cohort of predominantly young patients, with more than 80 percent of our population linked to the university, making it demographically unique in comparison to similar sized GP practices. Our distinctive demographics result in lower chronic disease prevalence allowing us to provide excellent clinical care to patients with complex clinical needs, contributing to extremely low home visit requests.

Main duties of the job
The candidate will be dealing with a wide range of patients with differing health needs within a primary care setting.
The Candidate is expected to undertake consultations in all clinical settings as directed. These consultations will cover the breadth of General Medical Services and Enhanced Service obligations. You will be expected to support the partners in providing such services as outlined in the GMS Contract and any other National, Directed or Local Enhanced Service agreed between the practice and other stakeholders. In addition, contribution to the success of the practice achieving maximum QOF points and other practice objectives will form part of this role.
Clinical responsibilities in accordance with the sessions mutually agreed, conducting consultations with a blend of online consultations, telephone and face to face consultations. You will be expected to make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
The post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working in Primary Care with clinical administrative tasks which are but not limited to; checking and taking appropriate actions on triaged tasks received, tasks and any other means receivable by the practice, checking and completing investigation results, referral letters, on call duty sessions working in partnership with the clinical team.

As a teaching practice, we offer great learning opportunities to new GPs, medical students, physician associates and the nursing team. Brunel Medical Centre is an active member of Synergy PCN and engages with the primary care network on different local objectives. In addition, the practice also participates in a number of projects relating to teaching, supporting vulnerable members of our community and reducing health inequalities. These projects are beyond the standard GMS contract specification and are led by Brunel Medical Centre in collaboration with Brunel University, Brunel Medical School and the NWL ICS.
Our practice team consists of 4 GPs, an advanced nurse practitioner, 2 prescribing clinical pharmacists, a management team, receptionists and administrators along with a health care assistant. In addition, clinical pharmacists, Social Prescribing Link Worker, Mental Health Practitioner, Pharmacy Technicians and care coordinators deployed by the PCN.
