Practice Manager

Job summary

We are looking to recruit someone to join our Practice Management team, helping to provide the best quality care for our patients in collaboration with the GP Partners.

We are offering a full-time permanent post, working Monday to Friday at 40 hours per week. However, we may be willing to offer some flexibility around this, depending on the needs of the successful candidate.

Although managerial experience within the NHS is desirable, we are open to applications from a wide range of sectors.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and resourceful manager, with strong inter-personal and HR management skills, who is motivated to lead the practice and its future growth.

The management team is accountable for all business aspects of the Practice, including human resources, finance, premises management and contractual and legal requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of excellent patient care by leading the team with vision and drive and meeting the Practices targets within the financial limitations of NHS general practice.

About us

The Gower Medical Practice is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near Swansea and consists of two locations: our main site in Scurlage and our branch site in Pennard. The practice has an approximate list of 6,400 patients and has an exceptional team of both clinical and non-clinical staff.

Our surgery has 5 GP Partners as well as one Salaried GP. We are a well established training practice which means that we engage up to 5 GP Registrars at any one time. Our multidisciplinary team consists of three Practice Nurses (one of which is a nurse prescriber) and two Health Care Assistants. We also work closely with a number of Cluster staff including a Pharmacist and Chronic Conditions Nurse.

Both of our sites have large on-site car parks for both patients and staff.
