Ribbleton
Medical Centre are expanding their practice team.
We
are looking for a confident and diligent Physician Associate to join our
multidisciplinary team.
The
successful applicant will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of
GP's; Clinical Pharmacists; Physician Associate and Nurses to provide holistic
care to our registered patient population.
Main duties of the job
As
a PA, you will be acting within your professional boundaries, providing care
for patients from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment,
and evaluation of care under the supervision of a GP.
You
will demonstrate safe, clinical decision making and expert care for patients
within general practice, in consultation with mentoring GP.
You
will work with the multi-disciplinary team to support the delivery of policy
and procedure and meet the needs of patients.
Undertake
as agreed telephone/surgery-based consultations for emergency or routine problems,
including management of long-term conditions.
Instigate
necessary invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests or investigations and interpret
findings/reports within the scope of a PAs practice. Discuss the results and implications of
laboratory investigations with patients.
Utilise
clinical guidance and promote evidence-based practice.
Offer
a holistic service to patients and their families, developing where appropriate
an ongoing plan of care/support with an emphasis on prevention and self-care.
Contribute
to the practice quality targets to consistently achieve high standards of safe,
evidence based, cost effective patient care and service delivery.
About us
Ribbleton Medical Centre is a three GP Partner practice with a list size of 8829 patients.
The practice is a training practice for Medical students; Foundation Year Doctors and Registrars.
Our practice team consists of: 3 Salaried GP's; 2 Clinical Pharmacists; 1 Physician Associate; 3 Practice Nurses; 2 Medicines Management; Practice Manager; Assistant Practice Manager; Practice Secretary and 9 Receptionists/Admin.

Professional
- Take the UK PA National Re-certification Exam every 6 years and maintain your professional registration working within the latest Code of Professional Conduct
- Undertake statutory and mandatory training as required by the practice
- Respect patient confidentiality at all times and not divulge patient information unless sanctioned by the requirements of the role
Communication and working relationships
Establish and maintain effective communication pathways with all practice staff and visiting clinical team members such as District Nurses, Midwife etc

- Bachelor Degree in Life Science/Biomedical/Nursing or Allied Health Service
- Valid national certification and recertification every six years stipulated by PAMVR

- Basic or advanced life support
