Job summary
This role is for 24 hours a week providing assistance to the Operational Management Team in supporting key aspects of practice management administrative tasks, contributing to ensuring the practice achieves its aims in a safe and effective working environment.
Main duties of the job
The Secretarial Officer will primarily focus on supporting functions such as HR, complaints, staff wellbeing, governance, communications, document control and general administrative duties including organising and minuting key meetings.
To be responsible for the line management of the secretarial team including but not limited to leave planning, performance, work allocation, training, appraisals etc. Keeping up to date with all things secretarial in order to both lead and undertake the work of that team.

We hold clinical education monthly meetings for all of our staff where our own staff teach on their area of expertise.
Our large expanding team consists of doctors, Advanced Clinical/Nurse Practitioners, Nursing team (NPs, PNs, TNA, HCAs, and phlebotomists), 2 Clinical Pharmacists (& 1 technician), 3 Physician Associates and first contact physiotherapists. We are also looking to skill mix the workforce further as we explore the new roles available in primary care working in the network.
We work very closely with Sheffield Hallam University, and have a medical centre housed in the heart of the university. We are also one of four pilot sites in Sheffield to be part of a mental health transformation project, delivering a mental health wrap-around service integrated into primary care for students.
