Job summary
Initial interview date April 15th 2026
Here at Riverside Medical Practice, we endeavour to provide patient centred, evidence based primary care and believe that our organisation has huge potential to further these ambitions. That's why we are excited to offer an opportunity for an ambitious Business Manager to lead our practice in the heart of Shrewsbury, Shropshire, through the changing landscape of primary care, towards realising the potential of the Practice.
Our town centre location is within 5 minute's walk of Shrewsbury indoor market, which has, on four occassions, been voted Britain's favourite indoor market. This illustrates how our town centre is thriving and goes some way to explain why Shrewsbury has been cited in The Times newspapers list of 10 best places to live 2025.
With proximity to wonderful countryside, a formidable food scene and good local state schools, we feel very lucky to live and work in our town.
This is a rewarding opportunity to lead both operational excellence and strategic growth and to love where you live and work.
You will need to demonstrate you are:
Values led.
A natural leader who builds others up
Visionary and creative but grounded in the detail
Commercially savvy.
Resilient, adaptable and positive
Passionate about transforming patient care
Main duties of the job
As Business Manager, you'll be responsible for the leadership, development, and performance of Riverside Medical Practice.
Working closely with our 2 GP Partners, our Practice Manager and our leadership team, you'll manage daily operations, team performance, regulatory compliance, and financial sustainability, all while driving our growth and quality ambitions.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Business Manager who is ready for a challenge and to realise the potential of our practice with a supportive, experienced GP Partnership and leadership team.
Riverside Medical Practice is a long-standing town centre Practice which moved to a bespoke, purpose-built building in September 2020. Our well-established reputation for providing compassionate, inclusive healthcare alongside training medical students, resident doctors and GPs of the future, positions the Practice well, as neighbourhood working develops. We have the building capacity and experience to offer more to our community of patients. We are looking for a leader to maximise this potential.
