Job summary

We are looking to recruit a bright, positive and enthusiastic person to join our team as a GP Administrator/Receptionist.

Experience not required but desirable.

Attention to details is extremely important as is learning quickly and the ability to take on a number of tasks in a dynamic environment.

We have two positions available, one 22.5 hours and one 15 hours. Both will include 8am starts and 6:30pm finishes.

Salary is dependent on experience.

4 weeks holidays (pro rata) plus bank holidays.

We are a friendly, team-orientated practice situated in Crumpsall, North Manchester looking for someone to come and help us provide for our patients.

Main duties of the job

This is a multi-skilled role for the successful candidate, who will undertake a range of duties including dealing face-to-face with patients and visitors, assisting with day-to-day routine GP admin work, answering and making telephone calls and supporting the Surgery team. We are looking for someone who is dedicated and interested in working in a medical environment. The successful applicant will have good levels of literacy, IT skills and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the responsibilities of the role. Some medical admin/reception experience would be an advantage, however training and guidance will be given.

Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing of information and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
