Main duties of the job

As a Salaried GP at Quarry Bank Medical Centre, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based care to our diverse patient population, supported by a skilled multidisciplinary team. Youll manage a balanced mix of routine and same-day appointments, contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement activities, and take part in developing innovative models of primary care.

As a GP Trainer, or someone working towards approval, you will play an active role in teaching and mentoring medical students and GP trainees, fostering a positive learning environment and supporting our educational vision.

Youll work collaboratively with our See and Treat Practitioner, First Contact Physiotherapists, Podiatrists, Mental Health Practitioners, and Social Prescribers to deliver integrated care aligned with NHS Long Term Plan priorities. This is a role for a GP who values teamwork, education, and making a meaningful difference in the community.

Job Purpose

To provide high-quality, evidence-based primary care services to the patients of Quarry Bank Medical Centre, contributing to the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred care. The post holder will also play a key role in supporting medical education and the professional development of learners within the practice.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, evidence-based medical care to the registered patient population.
  • Manage a range of acute, chronic, and preventive health issues through both face-to-face and remote consultations.
  • Undertake home visits and clinical reviews as required.
  • Prescribe medicines safely and appropriately in line with local and national guidance.
  • Contribute to clinical audits, QOF, IIF, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support the See and Treat Practitioner and wider multidisciplinary team to ensure timely access to care.
  • Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records using EMIS Web and Accurx systems.

Educational and Training Responsibilities

  • Act as a GP Trainer or support the GP training programme while working towards full trainer approval.
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and feedback to GP registrars, medical students, physician associate trainees, and other learners.
  • Contribute to the practices teaching and development activities, including tutorials, clinical supervision sessions, and quality assurance reviews.
  • Support and uphold the educational values of the practice in alignment with the GMC, HEWM, and university standards.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and maintain evidence of ongoing learning and reflection.

Team and Leadership Responsibilities
