Job summary
We are currently seeking an expereinced and dedicated Practice Nurse to join our
healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering
high-quality patient care within a busy clinical environment between our Havant and
Bedhampton sites. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated
individual to utilise and develop their nursing skills and contribute positively to patient
outcomes. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive
nursing services, supporting our doctors and health care assistants, and ensuring the smooth operation of the
practice.
Main duties of the job
Your daily duties will be providing care and interventions following a list of patients who are booked into appointment slots. Their attendance could be for a variety of reasons which could include smears, chronic disease monitoring, wound care and dressings, immunisations and diagnostic tests like dopplers and ECG. Its a role with variety that allows you to practice autonomously but also be able to access support and advice from our experienced team of professionals who are on site when required.

Blossom Health are a GP practice based over 2 sites in Havant and Bedhampton. We have a caseload of approximately 16,000 patients. Our patients can access GP, Nursing and HCA appointments alongside accessing practitioners like physiotherapists, pharmacists and social prescribers through our involvement being within a Primary Care Network (PCN). Clinical
-
Manage patients
with chronic conditions by running dedicated clinic sessions.
- Participate in
national screening programs, including cervical cytology.
- Provide travel
health advice and administer appropriate vaccinations.
- Deliver the
national immunisation and vaccination schedule.
- Offer family
planning services, oral contraceptive and depo checks, general contraception
advice, and HRT guidance.
- Promote health
education and lifestyle advice to patients.
- Administer
prescribed injections (e.g., Zoladex, Prostap, B12).
- Perform wound
management, including doppler assessments, compression bandaging, and removal
of clips or sutures.
- Select, perform,
and interpret specific diagnostic tests
- Collaborating
with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
- Ensuring
infection control standards are maintained.
- Act as a
chaperone when required.
Administration
-
Maintain accurate
patient records using agreed Read Codes on the clinical system.
- Order
vaccinations and treatment room supplies.
- Support teaching
and training for HCAs and other team members.
- Ensure completion
of all documentation and tasks related to patient care.
- Collect data and
contribute to practice audits and research projects.
- Assist in
preparing practice development plans.
General

Maintain annual
NMC registration alongside revalidation and adhere to the Code of Professional
Conduct.

therapeutic environment for staff, patients, carers, and visiting
professionals. Comply with all statutory regulations (e.g., Health &
Safety, COSHH).
