Job summary
We are looking for a motivated and caring experienced Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive Practice team. We are a progressive and forward-thinking Practice who are passionate about providing high quality patient care.
At this stage, we shall not be accepting candidates through agencies.
Main duties of the job
- Provide Assessment, Screening, Treatment Services and Health Education advice
- Provide nursing treatments to patients in participation with general practitioners or independently to agreed protocols
- Provide general and specific health screening to the practice patients (within agreed protocols) with referral to the general practitioners as necessary
- Participate in health promotion for patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, asthma and CHD, according to agreed practice protocols
- Manage leg clinic and facilitate leg management pathway.
- Prepare/assist/facilitate vaccinations and immunisations and travel programmes
- Undertake the collection of pathological specimens including intravenous blood samples, swabs, etc., and perform any investigatory procedures requested by the GPs following appropriate training
- Take the lead in an area of chronic disease management
- Ensure accurate notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded in the patients computerised medical records
- Co-operate and participate in the collection of statistics for audit projects and evaluate and present results as required
- Have the opportunity to participate in research with the practice and wider PCN. The research role will give you the opportunity to work alongside our research team, who are supported by the University of Bristol.
- Have the opportunity to be involved with our Covid medicine delivery unit providing infusions for our vulnerable population requiring treatment.
