Job summary

OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our patients. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to administer medications accurately. Experience in a GMS setting is highly desirable.

This is a fixed term position, covering maternity leave, commencing February 2026. There may be the opportunity for a permanent role for the right candidate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Pharmacy or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • A strong background in patient care is essential.
  • Proficient in medication administration techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient interaction.

Main duties of the job

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient counselling on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient care and medication management.
  • Conduct medication reviews and monitor patient outcomes to ensure efficacy and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of prescriptions and patient information in compliance with regulations.
  • Educate patients and healthcare staff on new medications and treatment protocols.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities to improve pharmacy services.
  • Stay updated on advancements in pharmacotherapy and relevant clinical guidelines.
  • Oversee pharmacy students.
