Job summary
Bethnal Green Health Centre is a well-established GMS practice in the heart of Tower Hamlets, providing comprehensive primary care to approximately 10,000 patients from diverse cultural backgrounds. We are looking to recruit enthusiastic Medical Administrators to join our friendly and supportive team.
This is a varied and rewarding role combining front-of-house reception duties with a range of administrative tasks that support the clinical team and the smooth running of the practice. We have several part-time positions available with various shift patterns - hours are negotiable to suit the right candidates.
We welcome applications from candidates with general practice experience, but we are also happy to train the right person who can demonstrate the skills and attitude we are looking for. We are committed to supporting staff development and will invest in your training and career progression over the long term.
Main duties of the job
This is a varied role combining reception, administration and clinical support across the practice. You will be a key part of the team that keeps the practice running smoothly.
Day to day, you will answer calls, greet patients, and support our total triage system by navigating patient requests to the right clinician or service. You will process documents through our workflow system, handle referrals via eRS, and manage clinical correspondence on EMIS Web.
You will also support quality work including QOF and LES call and recall, processing test results, and helping maintain CQC compliance. There are opportunities to get involved in teaching, audit, and practice development.
The role covers several shift patterns across the week and hours are negotiable. No two days are the same - you might be on reception in the morning and processing referrals or supporting the clinical team in the afternoon.
We will train you on anything you are not already familiar with, including EMIS Web, Accurx, clinical coding, eRS, and our workflow systems.
