Job summary

A new opportunity has arisen for a part-time phlebotomist to join our Nursing team. We are looking to appoint an experienced Phlebotomist who is clinically skilled with general blood taking and can work across both our sites in Wem and Prees. Training will be given to the right person to progress to completing NHS health checks and other duties. Working 24 hours per week over ideally 3 days.

Main duties of the job

The key elements of this role include:

  • Taking, collecting and storing samples of blood in accordance with training and procedures.

You will have undertaken phlebotomy training and have recent experience in blood taking. You will be a team player with excellent communication and organisational skills, a positive attitude and commitment to General Practice and the NHS.

The role will be challenging and rewarding and will provide the opportunity for advancement and development, this might include monitoring blood pressure, performing ECG's, undertaking new patient health checks, and providing NHShealth checks.

Essential

  • Relevant qualification in Venepuncture
  • GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent grades will be accepted)

  • Experience of working in Primary care and using EMIS web clinical system
