Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Data Management Team for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our vibrant, forward-thinking practice. The right person will be keen to learn and contribute to the performance of the Practice, will have a good eye for detail and strong IT skills.

We are happy to be flexible with hours, part-time, job share and flexible working will be considered.

Experience of working in a medical setting would be desirable but not essential. Training will be provided,

Main duties of the job

To work within the data team undertaking a range of data duties which includes but is not limited to the coding of information into a patients clinical records from a range of sources including correspondence from other care service providers and other sources on the practice clinical system, adhering to guidance and procedure. Daily data administration tasks & administration of patient recall systems.

About us

We are a busy practice of over 12,000 patients which leads to high volumes of data processing. As part of the data team you will managed by the Data Quality Manager who will lead and direct the team to achieve high quality outcomes for the Practice.

The role is varied and will involve some training depending upon experience.

Job responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of the data team, and the data administrator will work within the data team to action these. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon other factors such as workload and staffing levels.

Coding patient data onto EMIS

Extracting the required data from clinical correspondence and inputting this data into the patients electronic healthcare record

Assist in the administration and coding of safeguarding documentation ensuring timescales are met

Actioning Daily administration tasks including but not limited to

Filing documents

Data EMIS task inbox

Data Emails

Vaccination Notifications

Diary Entry Housekeeping

Filing/retrieving of patients paper notes

Calculating and processing patient Home Blood Pressure Readings & other patient questionnaire responses following procedure

Administration of patient call and recall systems (when required)

Maintain effective security of data at all times

Secondary Responsibilities

In addition to the primary responsibilities, the data administrator may be requested to carry out the below tasks when needed.

Undertake in audit as directed by the audit lead

Assist with queries regarding safeguarding matters and refer to clinicians appropriately

Run searches and interpret the data for audit purposes

Initiate data quality improvement projects and collate the required data for reporting purposes

Ensure new patient records are received electronically and import into the EMIS clinical system.

Support the team in the effective use of searches & audits

Support the team in the use of the clinical system

Provide guidance in trouble shooting when required

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • GCSE Mathematics & English (C or above)

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
