Medical Secretary/Medical Administrator

Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Medical Secretary who has worked in General Practice.

We would prefer someone that could work at least 30 hours per week but could be flexible for the right person.

Main duties of the job

Typing referrals, private letters, reports and other documents.

Liaising with external agencies such as hospitals and community services.

Process private applications for claims, benefits, insurances and SARS. Keeping spreadsheet up to date for all private work undertaken

Regularly check and maintain email inbox

Maintain accurate referral and medical report spreadsheets

Use of multiple systems EMIS, DOCMAN, ERS, IGPR, ACCURX

Deal with patient telephone enquiries in an efficient, polite and professional manner

About us

We are a semi rural practice based in High Wycombe. We have a list size of approx 7000 patients.

We have 3 partners, 2 nurses, 2 HCA's and PCN staff that consist of a Paramedic, Physio, 2 Clinical Pharmacists and a GPA, as well as our admin team.

Job Summary

The following are the core responsibilities of the medical secretary. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels. Attention to detail is essential as is the ability to multi-task and be flexible to the needs of the role and to provide a reliable and friendly Primary Health Care Service

Primary Responsibilities
