Senior Administrator and Communications/I.T.

Job summary

An opportunity has arisen at our friendly Practice for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated senior administrator, with an interest in I.T. and communications.

The main purpose of the role is to provide efficient and effective support to our team of GPs and management and to deal with all aspects of day to day Practice/patient administration.

The ideal candidate will be expected to have a good knowledge of General Practice work and an interest in organising and chairing Safeguarding and End of Life MDTs. The position is for 36 hours per week working over four days.

Main duties of the job

Improve adoption and/or optimisation of new technology to enhance patient access and experience and increase productivity

Work with the IT lead to assist with daily IT problems

To take charge of the website and social media for the surgery

Work with the Practice Manager and Assistant Manager on new projects and procedures in the practice

Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures

  • To take charge of all safeguarding administration into that comes into the surgery- to include running Safeguarding MDT meetings with the Clinical team and medical professionals bi-monthly.

To run the Palliative care MDT meetings with the Clinical Team-

  • Manage all administrative queries as necessary

  • To act on patient requests with respect, sympathy and confidentiality

  • To deal with angry or upset patients and to respond to any unpredictable situation that may arise

About us

We are a busy six partner training and dispensing practice, with approximately 14500 patients, based in Whalley and also with a branch site in Sabden. We have a dedicated multi-disciplinary team of health professionals both clinically , administratively and managerial. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated member of staff to enhance the Practice team and help deliver a high standard of patient care.
