Job summary

Salary : £12.21

We are looking to recruit a confident and dynamic person whose duties will include the undertaking of general administration tasks, pulling and filing of patient notes, handling incoming and outgoing post and accurately inputting data onto our clinical systems to ensure patient records remain current and up to date. Ideally you will have experience of working in a GP practice using SystmOne.

The successful applicant will have an outgoing and enthusiastic personality, flexibility to meet the needs of the organisation, be IT literate and have a desire to grow and succeed within the organisational structure. Use of own transport with business use insurance is essential as travelling between sites may be required.

Main duties of the job

The scheduled hours of work are 18 hours:

Monday: 8:00-14:00

Thursday: 8:00-14:00

Friday: 11:00-17:00

About us

A background in a related administrative role would be useful but is not essential but a desire to learn is a must. Training will be provided to the right candidate. Previous applicants need not apply.

Role in Practice - Maintain accurate records, file medical notes, input data, word processing and scanning documents into the computer system.

Responsible to - Team Leader

Summary - The post-holder will be responsible for providing effective and efficient administrative support to the Partners and other Professional staff.

Responsibilities -

Administration

To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures including summarising, private work, deductions, immunisations, scanning and coding and other administrative tasks as required

To work in accordance with written protocols

Accurately retrieving filing of both electronic and paper notes and updating demographic information as necessary

Filing post including scanning test results and clinical correspondence into in medical records

Dealing with incoming post

Computer

Registration of new patients computer data entry and making amendments to medical records

Process patients change of address and other demographic information inputting computer data and medical records, having knowledge of the practice area and data protection protocols

Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

messages clearly and accurately

They do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately according to the Data Protection Act and other information governance guidelines and employees will receive regular training regarding this.

In the performance of the duties outlined in this job description, the post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carers, practice staff and other healthcare workers. They may also have access to information relating to the practice as a business organisation. All such information from any source is to be regarded as strictly confidential
