VILLAGE HEALTH GROUP
We have a great opportunity for a Healthcare Assistantto join our
team.
The successful applicant will need to be friendly, enthusiastic, willing
to work as part of a team, be IT literate and have a desire to grow and succeed
within the organisational structure.
Knowledge and experience in the following areas would be ideal, but full
training can be provided for the right candidate
Venepuncture
Dressings
Clip and suture removal
Long term condition annual reviews
NHS Health Checks
ECGs
Diet and Lifestyle advice
Urinalysis
Blood pressure checks
Main duties of the job
You will need to be
willing to carry out further technical and clinical procedures following
appropriate training and demonstrating competence. You will also need a full
driving license as you will need to undertake home visits.

About us
Overview
of Village Health Group (VHG)
VHG is a large GMS practice of around 26,000 patients
in Rushcliffe, South Nottinghamshire. The practice formed in April 2020 from
the merger of East Leake Medical Group and Keyworth Medical Practice, both of
which have been rated outstanding by the CQC. VHG works across four sites, with
our main sites in East Leake and Keyworth and branch surgeries in Ruddington
and Sutton Bonington.
VHG has 10 GP partners working together with a wide
range of health care professionals including salaried GPs, nurse practitioners,
practice nurses, health care assistants, clinical pharmacists, first contact
physiotherapists social prescribing link workers and care-coordinators. We are
well supported by local community nursing and therapy teams and we have a
well-developed model of multidisciplinary working. We use SystmOne clinical
system and accuRx.
We are a friendly, enthusiastic, well organised practice committed to
offering quality care while achieving high QOF targets. We use the SystmOne
clinical system.
We are part of the PartnersHealth GP Federation, PartnersHealth working
together with practices in Rushcliffe, and part of the Rushcliffe PCN.

Job Title:

Job Purpose:
To provide a high quality care service based on the
needs of the Practice population which includes treatment, screening,
preventative care and patient education by
assisting the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of
prescribed programmes of patient care.
Duties and
Responsibilities
Clinical
Blood pressure check
New patient health checks/heart checks
ECG recording
Phlebotomy
Chaperoning duties
Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by
GPs/nurses
Cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
Surgical equipment and re-stocking and stock rotation (excluding
vaccines)
Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
Preparing and
maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care
Interventions including
assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and
well-being
Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have
been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be
promoted
Assisting with the collection and collation of
data on needs related to health and wellbeing
Any other duties for which you have undertaken
training and peer supervision e.g flu vaccinations, pneumonia and B12
vaccinations, dietary advice and dressings.
Administration
To maintain accurate patient records and enter onto the
computer using agreed Read Codes
Ensure accurate completion of all necessary
documentation associated with patient health care
General
To maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for all
PHCT staff, patients, carers and co-workers from other agencies. Ensure all
statutory regulations (e.g. Health & Safety, COSHH, etc) are implemented
and adhered to
To promote a professional approach at all times by
attire and attitude to patients and staff both in and out of the Practice
Participation in an annual individual performance review, including
taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or
professional development
Attend and participate in staff and Practice meetings
and in-house clinical training sessions
Taking responsibility for own development, learning and performance
