Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 new receptionists to join our vibrant and friendly team at Ruddington Medical Centre. We are currently looking for 2 candidates to fulfil the hours below. The hours available are:

Monday: 8am - 6.30pm with a 30 minute unpaid break

Monday: 1.30pm - 6.30pm

Tuesday: 8am - 6.30pm with a 30 minute unpaid break

Wednesday: 1.30pm - 6.30pm

Thursday : 8am - 6.30pm with a 30 minute unpaid break

Friday: 8am - 6.30pm with a 30 minute unpaid break

Our current staff work a mixture of full days and half days during the week to accommodate a good work home life balance.

Main duties of the job

Having experience of dealing with the public or providing customer service is essential. Excellent communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work under pressure are also essential. The ability to be able to do additional hours to cover planned absences is required. There are presently 8 members of the reception team who work very closely together as a team providing front line help and assistance to patients and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care in an ever changing and challenging environment.

NHS and SystmOne would be desirable, however full training will be given. Ruddington Medical Centre is an Accredited Training Practice. We have trainee GPs and several medical students. We were rated Good by the CQC.

To ensure that the reception area of the Practice runs smoothly, provides a high level of service to patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the Practice team

Duties and Responsibilities

Telephone Duties

1.

Making appointments

Taking requests for prescriptions from housebound patients

3.

Giving out results

4.

Ambulance transport bookings for on the day service

Home visit requests

6.

Deal with general enquiries and complaints

Contacting other providers

Reception Duties

8.

Register new patients and temporary residents, when required

Greet and direct patients and visitors

Making appointments

Handing out prescriptions

12.

Ensure outstanding queries are explained and handed over to next shift, as necessary

Respond to needs of doctors and nurses during surgery

Collect payments from patients for non-NHS services
