This service has opted out of AFC, however the role is equivalent to AFC Band 6 position

Working Pattern: up to 37.5 hours per week
East Bridgford Medical Centre is contracted to run The Nottinghamshire County Fracture Liaison Service, a different model of community nursing that holds the patient at the centre, triangulating both primary and secondary care via integrated working through virtual clinic. Its a very exciting time to work with us and an opportunity to be involved in our service.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time trainee clinical nurse specialist (Part time would be considered) to work within our community team.
A training programme will be implemented and the successful candidate will be expected to complete their PG Certificate in the management of osteoporosis and bone health with the University of Derby, this is expected to commence September 2024. There will be study time allowed, but there is also an expectation of a need to invest in your future with self-study supported by the team.
Main duties of the job
This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to expand their knowledge and experience of systematically identifying, treating and referring to appropriate service all eligible patients aged over 50 years within a local population who have suffered a fragility fracture, with the aim of reducing their risk of subsequent fractures.
The motivated individual will be fully supported by our dynamic team of experts running the FLS in providing support, advice and education to this patient group.
You will have a minimum of 3 years post-registration experience, with an interest in Osteoporosis and a willingness to develop specialist knowledge in this field.

High standards of clinical performance are essential, with good leadership skills. You will need to be well organised with strong communication and IT skills. This is a busy and challenging position which requires a flexible approach, but you will be part of a friendly and supportive team.
A full clean driving licence and use of own vehicle is essential.
Competence in cannulation is desirable, but training will be given to the right candidate.
