Clinical Pharmacist

Job summary

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a clinically focussed, highly motivated prescribing clinical pharmacist.This is a new role at the practice and we are looking for candidates who can implement new processes and procedures, and shape medicine management & optimisation at the practice!

We are ideally looking for someone who has an independent prescribing qualification, but we're happy to consider someone who's already enrolled on a national programme and due to qualify. You will be supported by a PCN pharmacy team and a PCN pharmacist who comes to the practice, and you may be involved with any projects. There's also a clinical pharmacist based at a practice in our PCN network we have close links with.

The practice is within commutable distance of Liverpool, the Wirral and surrounding areas with easy and direct transport links.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work within their clinical competencies as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide expertise in clinical medicines optimisation within the Practice. The successful candidate will pro-actively transfer workload relating to medicines optimisation issues from other clinical staff to improve patient care, safety and free up clinical staff to spend more time on clinical care. They will provide direct, accessible and timely medicines expertise.

About us

The practice has 4 main partner, 2 salaried GP's and 3 x Advanced Nurse Practitioners. The team is supported by a practice manager, a reception manager, an administration team and an information/computer manager. We also have a team of experienced nurses, a nurse prescriber and a nursing associate.
