Purpose of Job:
The Lead Receptionist is a senior front of house role that combines traditional reception duties with team leadership, overseeing other Receptionists, managing daily operations and ensuring excellent customer service in a busy environment. The job requires strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills. The Lead Receptionist will act as the first point of contact fir operational queries, train junior staff and implement service improvements bridging the gap between administrative tasks and supervisory responsibilities.

PRACTICE PROFILE
Market Street Health Group is situated in Newham, one of the poorer areas of London. As a result, our patients tend to have more health needs and often make more visits to see their doctor than the average. We have a higher than average representation of the under 16s and the elderly. Newham is a multiracial area with 50% of the population being from diverse ethnic backgrounds. As a practice we are one of the highest users of the local advocacy service.
Newham has over 60 practices. We are one of the larger practices in Newham with over 12 thousand patients, 5 GPs, 1 Salaried GP, 1 doctors in training, 3 Clinical Pharmacists. A nursing team of 3 including 1 Senior Practice Nurse and 2 Health Care Assistants. We have a health visitor and district nurse team, a midwife attached to the practice.
The clinical team is supported by the Practice Manager, a team of 8 Receptionists, 3 Secretaries managed by a Senior Secretary, a Medical Records Clerk, 2 Administrators and a Facilities Manager. We also have admin apprentices.
