The Roseland Surgeries

Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

We are a small, rural dispensing practice on the Roseland Peninsula.

We are looking for a new Healthcare Assistant to solidify our existing nursing team. This is a part time post - 3 mornings each week (to include one earlier start each week)

We have three sites and the postholder will be required to work at each of the sites to ensure equity of provision of service for all of our patients.

We are a small team working well under pressure and our HCA is an integral part of our nursing team. We can offer access to the NHS Pension Scheme (and other pension schemes are available).

Please note: the Roseland Peninsula does not have great access to public transport and so the postholder will be expected to have access to a car. Please do check out the postcodes of the surgery sites for more detail.

  • Postholders will have HCA experience and ideally an NVQ3 in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification.
  • Our healthcare assistant will work alongside the clinicians at each of our three sites to improve the overall health and wellbeing of our patients.

********

The following would be desirable, but training will be provided while in post:

provision of influenza vaccinations

pre-operative checks (to include swabs, i.e. MRSA)

24 hr BP/24 hr ECG recording

provision of B12 injections

About us

We are a small team but spread over three sites, so communication is key. We are a training practice with registrars and medical students and we involve all of our team in training. There is always opportunity for further development, both in house and externally via training sessions with the Kernow Health CIC training hub.

As a dispensing surgery, we have a lot of involvement with our patients and we know many of them directly. As a member of our team, you'll get continuity with your patients seeing them regularly for their check ups pre-chronic disease monitoring with the practice nurses. This helps to foster good working relationships and helps to maintain good levels of health.
