Job summary
We are looking for a salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team. We would prefer 4 sessions, but this could be negotiable for the right candidate. We would welcome applications from GPs at any stage in their career including newly qualified.
We are very focused on well being and team development holding about 8 Time In sessions per year which is a mixture of ICB led Time Out sessions and In House Team Development sessions per year. We have clinical meetings most weeks. We have a strong focus on staff well being and during the pandemic created a small garden and zen room to take time out in. We also have regular and one off social and well being events.
We are a 4-partner practice, and we employ a management team, 9 salaried GPs, 1 Practice Nurse, 3 Health Care Assistants, 2 Paramedics, 1 Physicians Assistant (On sabbatical), 3 Pharmacists and 1 Pharmacy technician. We also work with the PCN and have ARRS roles in Mental Health, Physiotherapy, NEAS paramedics for a home visiting service and administrators.
The Practice has excellent facilities for patients and staff, this comprises of 8 GP Consulting Rooms, 2 examination rooms & 3 Nurse Treatment Rooms with preparation areas: office accommodation, meeting rooms and communal kitchen area for lunch and coffee.
Main duties of the job
In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and un-diagnosed problems
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health
- Providing counselling and health education
- Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate using the RMS system

Our pharmacists and nursing team play an integral role within the organisation delivering our Long-Term Condition Management as well as managing medication changes from hospital letters and discharges.
We have pharmacy team support daily which helps reduce GP workload and they are always available to offer medicines advice.
Our administration team consists of skilled medical secretaries who deal with all referrals and help with all correspondence to external health professionals.
We have a proficient coding team that will ensure your correspondence is kept to a minimum freeing your time up to concentrate on contact time with patients and good clinical care.
Our friendly receptionists ensure that your surgeries run smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
We also have a navigator system that has been developed specifically to the Practices vision and this helps with continuity of patient care.
