Job summary

Bridge and Monkseaton Medical Practice are looking for an experienced medical receptionist to join our friendly team working in a busy reception department. The candidate should possess excellent customer service skills to deliver excellent patient care. You will be based at Monkseaton Medical Centre in Whitley Bay or Bridge Medical, based in Shiremoor.

We are looking for a team player who has excellent customer service skills and who will use these effectively to ensure our service users get the very best experience from Bridge and Monkseaton Medical Practice . You must possess IT skills as this role involves using computers. Our System of Choice is SystmOne. Training will be given to the successful candidate.

Main duties of the job

Your will be expected to take an active role within reception (switchboard, desk, trolleys and prescriptions, home visits, dealing with results, notifications, tasks, dealing with external health professionals and attached staff), setting up consulting rooms and sweep rooms at the close of business, dealing with all manner of tasks regarding appointments, complete all staff mandatory training (attending staff meetings or e-learning toolkit), first point of contact to deal with general enquiries from patients or general public, be aware of any lab results which are phoned to surgery and ensuring that these are dealt with by on call GP, to be aware of the Action Task Group and deal with any outstanding tasks, proactively recruit patients to appointments for LTC reviews and NHS Health checks where appropriate, proactively read and review polices and protocols to ensure efficient running of reception.

You will be the first point of call for patients and other Health Professionals either via the telephone or face to face at our reception desk. You will also be asked to contact patients, so a pleasant phone manner is essential.

Bridge and Monkseaton Medical Practice are a 2 site merged GP Practice with Partners, Salaried GP's, Paramedics, Physician Associate, Pharmacists, Nursing Team, Mental Health Team, Managers, Receptionists and Administrators all working together to provide excellent patient care to the patients of Bridge Medical, based in Shiremoor and Monkseaton Medical Centre based in Whitley Bay.
