Deliver the training that delivers best practice in organ donation

 

NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) aims to be the best donation service in the world for blood, organs, tissues and stem cells. Operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, our Hub Operations team delivers a centralised organ donor referral service to support specialist nurses, and matches and allocates organs in accordance with national sharing schemes.  It’s sensitive, highly skilled work requiring a well-trained workforce.

 

As Hub Operations Training Development Lead, you’ll ensure we meet the specialist induction, mentoring and training needs of our people. That means working with the Head of Hub Operations to develop new and innovative education programmes that address the demands of an evolving organ donation service.  You will also develop effective networks for sharing information, expertise and good practice.

 

This is an opportunity to share your own expert-level skills and knowledge in the field of organ donation, matching and allocation.  You’ll have experience of mentorship, coaching or education, allied to a keen awareness of current professional issues and contemporary developments in the field. The ability to evaluate and influence professional practice to ensure safety and effectiveness is essential.  You’re likely to have a relevant qualification in an area such as business management, data management or IT. Some shift work will be required.
