Consultant in Acute Medicine

Applications are invited for a Consultant in Acute Medicine to work within our acute medicine department based at Leicester Royal Infirmary. Having recently undergone significant renovation, the Acute Medical Unit is part of the Emergency Floor, which opened in June 2018.

Applicants must already be on the GMC specialist register or within 6 months of the interview date have a certificate of completion of specialist training or equivalent qualifying experience. This is a 10 PA job plan inclusive of DCC, SPA and on call allowance as standard.

As this post is regulated by the Protection of Children Act 1999, the Criminal Justice Courts Act 2000 and / or the Care Standards Act 2000, an enhanced disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) will be undertaken.

Leicester is 1 hour 5 minutes from London by train and has excellent road, rail and air links to most parts of the UK. The city is multi-cultural and the Leicestershire county is an attractive place to live with very reasonable living costs.
