Hours: 37.5 hours per week

City Health Centre is a busy established walk in centre providing minor illness/ minor injury/ on the day presentation consultations to a wide reaching population of Manchester.

You will
• Be a team player working closely with a team of 3-4 other practitioners each day that vary in skill mix, whilst able to work autonomously to make clinical decisions for the patients in your care
• Be able to coordinate and lead shifts, ensuring good quality care whilst being mindful of meeting KPI targets
• Triage patients
• Have the ability to fully assess/manage and treat fully assessing patients
• Be supervising and supporting trainee practitioners
• Be supporting junior members of staff

Most importantly be supported yourself by a dedicated assistant practice manager for the Walk in centre and a clinical lead

Once established in the role you will be given an opportunity to get involved and develop in other services provided such as the homelessness hub and primary care services for the registered patients.

There will be scope explore/develop a portfolio role within the company if desired (services can be seen in the summary below).

The role incudes a generous CPD entitlement to ensure development in practice and how you use this time is flexible and negotiable with your clinical lead and manager.
The walk in centre works alongside a GP practice that with over 13000 registered patients staff from this service work closely together as a team offering support and clinical supervision.

Job Summary       

The post holder will hold an MSC in Advanced Practice or be working towards RCN credentialing accreditation and within your professional boundaries you will assess diagnose, treat and provide advice, care and management for urgent and primary care patients either via telephone or face to face, with either long term conditions, with diagnosed or undiagnosed undifferentiated illness.  Support the delivery of policy and procedures, and provide leadership as required. 

The clinician will act as a positive role model supporting junior staff whist working flexibly between urgent care and primary care to provide safe clinical expert care.  This clinician working in this role will demonstrate critical thinking and will be key to supporting clinical work across the wider healthcare team to meet the needs of patients.   Working from our Clinical Hub which incorporates home visits, face to face assessment within the Primary Care Access Services, telephone triage, and face to face assessment within our urgent treatment centres, GP practices and Walk in-centres within Oldham and Manchester.
