Solent GP Surgery, part of Solent NHS Trust, serves over 17,000 patients across 3 sites in Southampton. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated, reliable and patient focused person to join our team as Reception Supervisor, primarily based at our Portswood surgery site as well as being part of our wider practice team.

The Reception Supervisor plays a key role in the day to day operation of the practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing work being undertaken by the reception team as well as assisting with a variety of tasks to ensure a quality frontline service is offered to our patients. As part of the role, the successful candidate will be required to be flexible with regard to their working location and spend time working across all the practice sites when required, this will include Portswood Surgery, Nicholstown Surgery (based at the Royal South Hants Hospital), the centralised call centre also based at the Royal South Hants Hospital site as well as Adelaide Health Centre based at the Western Community Hospital.

This is an essential role within the practice and the successful applicant will ideally have a working knowledge of primary care as well as strong IT skills. Knowledge of NHS clinical systems is desirable. You should possess excellent team working skills and ideally previous line management skills as well as being able to manage your own work load to a high standard. A full and comprehensive induction and training programme will be available for the successful candidate.

This is an exciting opportunity for those who are motivated and resourceful and are looking to move into a management role within the primary care NHS team.
