The University Hospitals of Leicester, Physiotherapy Department are very pleased to offer the opportunity for recruitment of band 5 Physiotherapists to work within UHL as a rotation opportunity.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in a diverse range of clinical specialities in a very large teaching Trust. UHL has Physiotherapy specialities on all three of our sites within Leicester. We offer opportunities in specialities such as Respiratory care , Surgical specialities and Renal care, Intensive care, Cardiology and cardio-thoracic surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedics, planned and emergency care, Acute Stroke and the Early Supported Discharge Service for Stroke, Neuro Rehabilitation Unit and the Brain Injury Unit, Inpatient and Outpatient Paediatrics, Oncology, MSK outpatients. The rotations last for six months in each speciality.

Junior staff are well supported both formally and informally by senior staff, using regular clinical supervision, one to one meetings and the appraisal process. We encourage junior staff members to participate in our band 5 Therapist development training programme. Each clinical team also has a local in-service training schedule, addressing the particular learning and development needs of staff within that team.
We are recruiting due to the internal promotion of current band 5 Physiotherapy staff.

The rotational posts are permanent, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday. The successful candidates will be required to work at the weekends and bank holidays and to participate on the emergency respiratory on-call rota.

UHL Physiotherapy department is passionate about research and the professional development of our staff, and all our staff are encouraged to participate in our local in-service training sessions. We are actively involved in research projects and have two staff members who are working on PhD studies and numerous other staff who are working on MSc and other research projects.
