Solent NHS Trust is pleased to welcome applicants for the strategic position of Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act Lead. This senior post will be based within the Trust's Mental Health Services but will have roles and responsibilities that will spread across all of the Trust's clinical services. 

Using your expert knowledge of the Mental Health Act, you will take a leading role in the ongoing monitoring, audit and scrutiny of how the Act is utilised in day to day clinical practice, providing assurances to the Trust Board where required and deliver a thorough training programme that is bespoke to the needs of the various staff groups working in services. You will also be required to work alongside clinical and corporate colleagues in your role as the designated lead for the Mental Capacity Act for the Trust and ensure systems are in place to support ongoing compliance against the standards expected, particularly in terms of audit, safeguarding and staff training. 

The role requires you to act as a conduit for dissemination of national and local developments and representing the organisation with external stakeholders, as well as being available to offer knowledgeable guidance and support to front line clinicians.  This is an exciting position for anyone who has a good knowledge of these legal frameworks who is also passionate about supporting clinicians to deliver high quality patient care.
