Hours: Full-time 37.5 per week

St Andrew’s Birmingham is a 128 bedded adult mental healthcare facility, located in Stirchley and comprises of eight units which cover medium and low security. Six of the wards provide services for Men and one is for women. Our final ward is being refurbished in the likelihood that it will create expansion to our women’s services and thus provide the opportunity for West Midlands Women currently placed out of area to be repatriated. This exciting service development is driven by the New Care Model with partnerships across St Andrew’s, BSMHFT and Midlands Partnership NHSFT across Reach-Out.

With regards to the Charity context Birmingham also represents the largest Integrated Practice Unit (IPU) as the vehicle to deliver 'Value Based Healthcare'. This will ensure our patients consistently get the best possible outcomes and local teams gain more control and responsibility.

You and the role

We are currently looking to appoint a qualified Clinical or Forensic Psychologist who has experience of this complex and challenging population and has skills and experience relevant to forensic mental health.

Psychology is highly valued within the service and embedded within a multi-disciplinary approach. The post holder will be fully involved in the development, delivery and evaluation of a range of assessments and formulation-led interventions.

There will be opportunities for joint professional work and involvement in clinical supervision, support and training and we actively support innovation and research. The successful applicant can look forward to receiving good support and supervision and will play a vital part in the promotion of this service. Participation in continued professional development is encouraged.
