Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust provides a range of community health services for both physical and mental health conditions, as well as a range of specialist services supporting people of all ages including family and young people services, mental health, learning disabilities and physical health community and inpatient services.

We deliver services to the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Our 5500 staff serve a population of one million from over 100 sites across the region.


We are pleased to share our plans for some exciting recruitment to permanent leadership roles in the Families, Young People and Children’s Directorate (FYPC).

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our leadership team, to ensure we are delivering outstanding services to the children and young people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and their families.

In this hugely important team lead role, you’ll manage and supervise a diverse group of staff from a range of professional backgrounds, provide great leadership with enthusiasm for service transformation and determination to provide outstanding quality of care, ensuring that children and young people are kept at the heart of everything we do. You’ll be responsible for coordinating and motivating the team, having robust oversight of waiting lists and working with key colleagues to ensure continuity of service.

You will have the opportunity to make an active and meaningful contribution to our exciting service improvement and redesign that is based on the i-Thrive model, ensuring children and young people get the right support, at the right time, in the right place, from individuals with the right skills.

We are looking for skilled and committed operational leaders with knowledge and experience of working across systems in partnership with other agencies and sectors. We are also importantly looking for flexibility and creativity in working with different groups in FYPC as service needs change.

With great communication and organisation skills and a flexible ‘can-do’ approach, you will work as an integral member of the leadership team across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland providing management cover for other team leads as required and participating in Out of Hours On-Call Manager’s Rota.

Key elements of the role:

Recruitment and retention of staff for a staff team

Performance of teams in relation to training, appraisals and supervision

Sickness absence management and monitoring

Ensuring supervision and case management of individual in the team is scheduled and occurs

Team audits

Incident reports

First line management of the budget allocation for the team

Day to day management and oversight of the clinic scheduling and applying booking rules for a staff team
