An exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and flexible individual to join the Respiratory Lung Cancer team.

This post will be supporting the team to implement and continually improve the Leicester Optimal Lung Pathway to support earlier diagnosis with the principles of this pathway being

  • To improve times to treatment
  • To increase the proportion of patients treated through better performance status
  • Reducing variation in clinical practice

The role will be expected to working closely with multi-disciplinary teams to facilitate and co-ordinate the function of a Cancer Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meeting and ensure this is effectively run following up agreed outcomes to support an effective patient pathway. Key responsibility for monitoring and tracking patients on a suspected cancer pathway ensuring compliance with Next Steps and adherence to local and national waiting times targets.

The role will also encompasses the National Lung Cancer audit and the post holder will be expected to ensure all audit data is collected in line with data quality processes and is submitted in line with audit deadlines.
