NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) aims to be the best donation service in the world for blood, organs, tissues and stem cells. You research leadership and support of novel technologies in organ donation and transplantation (ODT) will be critical to our future progress and success.

 

You will champion research, raising awareness of our programmes and creating an ethos of innovation in ODT. Building a strong understanding of users, patients, current systems and future needs, you’ll quickly become a subject-matter expert for the donation and transplantation research community. This will include representing NHSBT/ODT at national and international events. At the same time, you will plan, develop and lead national research strategies and projects.

 

You will bring advanced knowledge of current issues, research and developments across the donation and transplantation pathway, including the processes that underpin it. You’re likely to have a background in senior management in a clinical setting, with experience that spans relationship building, project management, performance improvement and service innovation. An exceptional communicator, you’ll be capable of influencing at all levels and of motivating people to deliver strategy and meet business objectives.

 

The normal working hours for this role are 37.5 hours per week, core hours over Monday – Friday. However, you will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice.
