Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust provides a range of community health services for both physical and mental health conditions, as well as a range of specialist services supporting people of all ages including family and young people services, mental health, learning disabilities and physical health community and inpatient services.

We deliver services to the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Our 5500 staff serve a population of one million from over 100 sites across the region.


Do you have an interest in supporting clients who have a Learning Disability and/or a Mental Health issues?

We are currently seeking a Full-time Speech & Language Therapist to join our Learning Disabilities and Mental Health Service.

The role will include:

  • To provide highly specialist speech and language (SLT) assessment, advice and treatment.
  • To work compassionately with service users and carers to achieve identified goals and to promote independence and well-being, within a person-centred framework.
  • To manage a defined caseload of patients.
  • To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of the SLT service within a designated team.
  • To provide expertise in a highly specialist area and to offer advice and consultation on clients care to other members of the team and external agencies.
  • To work within the professional practice guidelines.
  • To work and act as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, supporting each patient in the achievement of their planned outcomes.

The successful person would need to be able to demonstrate:

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • UK HCPC Registration.
  • Eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language
    Therapists.

For areas where our teams work to staffing rosters, rosters are set in advance at a team level and you will be joining an established roster. Your rostered shifts will be confirmed to you when arranging your start date. We will consider requests to vary working patterns in line with our flexible working policy.

For all substantive roles the appointment of every new member of staff (excluding medical and dental staff) to a post is subject to a 6 month probationary period, details of which are in our Probation Policy.
