We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed clinical psychologist to work within the Paediatric Clinical Psychology service in the Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post is based within the paediatric health psychology service, which is highly committed to providing child and family centred care. We are looking to recruit a clinical psychologist with post-qualification experience of working with children, young people and families, and has additional knowledge of National Good Practice of working as a clinical psychologist in paediatric health psychology. The post holder will also have further training in supervision skills required to provide supervision for Doctoral trainees.

The post-holder will work into the Paediatric Neurology service. There will be close working relationships with the Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist in paediatric neurology, and within the wider paediatric service. The post-holder will provide a clinical psychology service to children, young people and their families, in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. The service will include specialist psychological assessment and intervention, as well as advice and consultation to colleagues within the wider multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will also provide specialist neuropsychological assessment, formulation and intervention to this client group. Good communication with other members of the multidisciplinary team is essential. Community visits are an essential part of the job and the post holder must have a driving license.

The paediatric psychology team is part of the wider Department of Psychology in Healthcare which enables helpful collaboration and support with colleagues in adult psychology. There are also close links with the Doctorate Clinical Psychology course at Newcastle University.
