Consultant in Rheumatology

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (CHFT) are seeking to appoint a Consultant Rheumatologist to work as one of three consultants in our busy Rheumatology service. The successful applicant will work alongside consultant colleagues providing clinical care for the population served by CHFT. This post provides an opportunity to work with the existing team to further develop and strengthen the existing Rheumatology service. The post holder will provide a predominantly outpatient based service in conjunction with providing clinical support and opinions to consultant colleagues throughout the hospital. The Rheumatology service has access to Daycase facilities for the delivery of IV treatments. The consultants are supported by a team of experienced rheumatology nurses and a specialty physiotherapy practitioner.

Applicants are encouraged to attend the Leeds Academic Teaching sessions which are held weekly at Leeds Teaching Hospital and this is programmed into the job plan. There is potential to undertake clinics in a community setting at a future date building on the existing strong links between the Clinical Commissioning Groups and the Acute Trust.

Applicants must be on the General Medical Council Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining specialist registration at the time of interview and possess a License to Practice.
