Monday – Friday Band 5 (plus weekend and Bank Holiday roster)

We have a number of exciting opportunities to join our extensive Band 5 rotation due to promotion of our current Band 5’s and funding for additional Band 5 posts

Working as a Band 5 in UHL, you will have the opportunity to rotate across a range of diverse specialities in this large acute teaching Trust.

The OT service works across all three hospital sites and we are proud to be a well respected and highly valued service within the Trust

The OT service has over 120 staff in total, comprising support staff grades, highly skilled senior therapists and clinical specialists and an established therapy management team.

Rotational posts are of six month duration. You will have the opportunity to work on each of the three hospital sites (Leicester General Hospital, Leicester Royal Infirmary and Glenfield Hospital).

Specialities include - acute medicine, A&E, reablement ward, stroke (acute, rehab and early supported discharge), neurology ward, Brain Injury Unit, Neuro Rehab Unit, cardio respiratory trauma, elective orthopaedics, surgery, renal, oncology and paediatrics

We also have the opportunity for one year rotations in some areas and take into account expressions of interest when planning the rotations.

You will be responsible for managing your own caseload, carrying out functional assessments, treatments and interventions to facilitate safe and effective discharges.

You will demonstrate excellent communication and time management skills, be able to work on your own and within a team.

You will receive regular supervision, appraisal and will benefit from a comprehensive induction and preceptorship package.

Each team has a team development plan to enhance knowledge and skills within their specialty and you will be expected to take an active role in your continuous personal development. There are excellent career development opportunities within the trust.
