A key part of our Nursing and Midwifery strategy is to have an empowered and skilled workforce who are responsive to the needs of patients. We achieve this by ensuring staff feel supported, clinically, academically and emotionally through Continued Professional Development, Clinical Supervision and the Trust Professional and Leadership behaviours.

Ward 46 is a 29 bedded colorectal, in-patient surgical ward at the RVI, which cares for patients with a wide range of colorectal conditions. The caseload ranges from elective surgery, emergency surgery and conservative management of chronic, acute colorectal conditions ,including palliative patients. This post would suit candidates with previous surgical experience. The Directorate offers a comprehensive and extensive range of general surgery and offers immense learning opportunities within this clinical specialty.

Applicants should have

* Registered Nurse (appropriate to branch)

* Current NMC registration

* Degree level knowledge or working towards completion (ie. on a pathway)

* Previous post registration experience in surgical setting, some of which must be at Sister/Charge Nurse level

* Extensive clinical practice or specialist qualification in the relevant specialty.
