An exciting opportunity has arisen for dynamic, motivated and experienced individuals to work within a critical care team providing direction and inspirational leadership to the nursing and multi disciplinary team within our Adult Intensive Care Unit.

The Royal Infirmary is a busy Unit with currently 22 beds and is an expanding service. The Unit accepts patients from a range of elective surgical specialties and emergencies from across the hospital and the Emergency Department located here at the Royal.

 

The post holder will be an expert clinical practitioner, be required to work shifts and be an enthusiastic integral member of our well established and committed teams. They will also be responsible for providing and supervising the delivery of excellent quality care and be responsive to the needs of service users, patients, carers and the public.

As a clinical skills supervisor, you will have a pivotal role in implementing, supporting and monitoring clinical education, by assessing competence and ensuring progression and teaching and training in the clinical setting. Primarily, you will be working in partnership with Team Leaders and the education team in the development of all staff within Intensive care.

Wider responsibilities include the provision of a supportive learning environment for continuing education, reporting to the Senior Sister and supporting the wider organisation shift leadership. You will be responsible for managing resources and information, co-ordinating elective and emergency activity and the provision of care within the Intensive Care Service across UHL. A period of supervision and structured training and support will be available and we can offer a wide range of development opportunities.

Part time and flexible working hours will be considered
