This is a new and exciting opportunity to develop a service within Neuropsychology for people who experience Non-epileptic Attack Disorder (NEAD). You will be working within the Adult Neuropsychology Team to set up, deliver and evaluate a service offering psychological support and intervention for people with NEAD.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join the Psychology in Healthcare Service at Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to work within Adult Neuropsychology at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. This post offers a new and exciting opportunity to develop a specialist service for adults, within the region, who experience non-epileptic attacks. The Adult Neuropsychology service is well established in providing a specialist service to the Regional Neurosciences Centre with access to specialist clinical and research facilities and links with local Universities.

You will be joining a highly motivated and supportive team to develop, deliver and shape this new service. You will be part of the large and innovative Psychology in Healthcare service, comprising adult, pediatric and primary care mental health sections and delivering services to local, regional and national populations.

The successful applicant will have considerable experience of working with adults who present with non-epileptic attacks and functional neurological disorders and will lead service development for this patient group. They will be skilled in psychological and neuropsychological assessment and treatment and be responsible for the efficient delivery of psychological care. They will work with colleagues in Neuropsychology and Neurosciences to review and evaluate the service and offer training and supervision to other professionals, as appropriate. They will have highly developed communication, organisational and team-working skills and line management experience.

The post holder will be expected to contribute to local and national developments in neuroscience and Psychology in Healthcare.
