The NHS Blood and Transplant press team has a chance to play a key role in media work on lifesaving campaigns. NHS Blood and Transplant is responsible for organ donation in the UK and blood donation in England.

 

The successful Communications Officer will primarily work to develop and manage relationships with local and regional media outlets to proactively support marketing strategies and deliver them at a local level.

 

They will also at times need to work across the wider communications mix, including internal communications, digital, social media, and stakeholder communications. The successful candidate will support lifesaving campaigns to encourage donation and work extensively with people whose lives have been saved and improved by transplants and transfusions.

 

 

 

The post holder will handle a large and constantly changing workload in a busy environment. They need to handle local media enquiries and requests under pressure; providing communications support and advice to a range of individuals on a number of different levels as well as being adept at managing relationships with stakeholders both within and outside the organisation.
