Cardiac Physiologist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly specialised Cardiac
Physiologists (Band 7) within the Congenital section of the Cardiac
Investigations Department.

Job share and part time will be considered.

Band 7
If you fancy a change of scenery and the opportunity to further develop your skills?
Look no further! We are seeking applicants who are currently looking for the next
step in their careers, who are highly motivated, willing to develop their skills and want
to join our dynamic and caring team.
The University Hospitals Leicester NHS Trust is based across three sites in the
exciting, multicultural city of Leicester, in the heart of England. The Trust is one of the
largest tertiary cardiac departments in the UK providing a full range of standard and
complex, invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests, and routinely performing
complex interventional techniques on adult and congenital patients.

From December 2020 Paediatric cardiac services at University Hospitals of Leicester
will be co-located at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. As part of the move, there will be a
purpose built cardiology department including outpatients, echo suite, pacemaker
clinic, catheter lab and cardiac theatre.
Candidates will have BHRS accreditation or IBHRE/NASPE exam and a minimum of
three years post BSc (or equivalent) qualification experience. The successful
candidate will work on a rotational basis mainly between the devices clinic and the
catheter lab. You will manage your own daily caseload and assist in the
development of all areas of the cardiac rhythm management service for the
congenital service.
We are looking to attract a candidate who will be able to motivate, develop and
facilitate training of junior members of staff in conjunction with the other Band 7
Physiologists. Applicants are required to have good organisational skills and
excellent interpersonal skills and will be required to work as part of a team. In return
we are able to offer access to training and development opportunities and a wide
variety of procedures. Ideally the preferred candidate will have experience of
congenital pathologies although consideration will be given to applicants with little or
no congenital experience as training can be given in this area. Experience of working
in a cath lab for at least two years is essential as this post will be to lead the cardiac
physiology team within the cath lab and pacing clinic.
We are a progressive, enthusiastic team waiting to welcome new members and
actively encourage continued professional development.
The department runs a 24/7 on call service for cath lab and devices, so participation
on the on call rota is a key requirement of this role. The Trust is working towards 7
day working so the successful applicant may be expected to work weekends, bank
holidays and evenings as part of their shift patterns.

Closing Date 14th December 2019
