We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist! We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic therapist who is dysphagia trained; who has experience of working with children with communication disorders and feeding difficulties in special schools and/or the community. Full time and Part time applications will be considered for this opportunity. 

This post will be most suitable for a therapist who is already working as a band 6, who has completed the RCSLT Dysphagia Competency Framework – Level B (Foundation dysphagia practitioner) and has a minimum of two years postgraduate experience working with a wide range of children with communication and/or swallowing impairment. We will also consider applications from experienced Band 5 therapists looking to expand and develop their skills. This varied role is likely to include a mixed caseload of special schools, mainstream schools and preschools.

Since 1 May 2014 we have been the providers of Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech & Language Therapy to children and young people 0-19 years across the county of Hampshire including the cities of Southampton and Portsmouth. The Children’s Therapy service in the north of Hampshire is based over two sites, Aldershot Centre for Health and Adelphi House in Basingstoke.

We have developed an integrated model of working with Therapy teams increasingly working together to provide holistic models of care. We are an experienced and supportive team that has excellent relationships with early years, schools, health and social care colleagues is allowing us to share our expertise more widely and create innovative ways of working together to better meet the needs of both the child and their family.

We have a telephone advice line, a Schools Therapy Resource Pack, provide INSET training and receive excellent feedback from the Friends and Family Test.
