Mechanical Maintenance Assistant

 

(BAND 3)

 

 

The Medical Physics Equipment Management Service (MPEMS) requires one dynamic Mechanical Maintenance Assistant, to take a key role within the service. This is a demanding position and you will play a major part in achieving service objectives in a busy and technically challenging environment governed by an ISO9001 quality system.

 

The successful candidate will have the ability to self manage and prioritise the direction of their day to day activities to achieve timely completion of design and manufacture of components for both research and development and service innovation. The role will also involve servicing of medical equipment and the performance of associated equipment management tasks. The maintenance role is performed both in-house and at various customer sites throughout Leicestershire. A driving licence and own transport are desirable.

 

Applicants must be qualified to NVQ Level 2, and it is essential that you have some experience and/or interest in the use of machine tools. Knowledge of computer aided design would be desirable. Technical training will be available.

 

You will have a safety conscious approach to your work and the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels. An ability to cope under pressure, be adaptable and multi-task is required. Experience of using an equipment database and associated IT skills will be a distinct advantage.
